The Last Moments
Looks like 4.19 is going to stay with me for a while. And this season as a whole.
I keep waiting for Dean to snap. I think, if I was reading it as a fic, I'd already would have told the writer I think it was too much for a person to handle, and the way Dean just doesn't break doesn't feel realistic to me. But it's not a fic. And that's why this is.

"So this is it, huh? Do or die," Dean said, looking at the horizon.
"Indeed," Castiel said, "We must not fail this time."
"You actually think we can stop them from breaking the seal?" Dean asked, glancing at the angel from the corner of his eye.
"I have faith in the Lord," Castiel replied solemnly.
"Yeah," Dean said, "I bet they said the same thing when the Flood started. Oh, don’t worry, it's just a little rain."
"Have faith, Dean," Castiel said softly.
"In God?"
"Yes," Castiel said, "And in yourself," he added. Dean gave a small nod, eyes roaming the horizon.
"You think we're going to survive this? That I'm going to survive this?" Dean asked.
"I don’t know," Castiel said.
"Well, in that case, can you do me a favor?" Dean asked, turning to look at the angel. Castiel turned his head to face him. "Can you make sure that I don’t?"
