Even more thinky thoughts...
It happens, sue me. *shrugs*
So, let's talk Castiel, shall we?
4.01 was not what I expected it to be - meaning, I expected it to suck out loud in surround sound, but it was pretty good. I loved it that they had someone who's not Sam or Bobby bring Dean back. I kinda rolled my eyes at the angel thing, but ok. I mean, I looked at it as some sort of a wink to Faith, where LaGrange told Dean that when God guided him to Dean, and he looked into Dean's heart, he saw a young man with a job to do, and that job wasn't finished. I liked it. That was cool. And having the episode end without the cliche of Dean Vs. Sam was an added bonus.
Now, don't get me wrong. I have nothing against Misha. He's a very good actor. Castiel? I have a few problems with him.
For one, in 4.02, he's talking about stopping Lillith from opening the 66 seals of Doom and for the life of me, I will never get kroki_refur 's comments about seals (the marine mammals) out of my head. So - Dean's mission - to stop Lillith.
Then, at the beginning of 4.03, Castiel makes it look like Dean has to stop Azazel from starting the whole thing with Sam - to stop Azazel from getting to Sam - Dean's mission - to stop Azazel.
But it wasn't, of course. Azazel had some endgame no one knows about (which, really? You're using the God card, and no one knows? Really??) but fine. Dean's new job - to stop Sam. Or someone else would.
...
Would you make up your freaking mind already?
Kripke, the episodes you write are gold. John Shiban was also fan-freaking-tastic, but as for the rest of them? Seriously, man. Time to do a little rethinking. If I wanted to just watch a show to pass the time, I'd watch Grey's Anatomy. I watch SPN because I'm looking for something more. Hell, I know it belongs to the CW now, but I kept going to the WB site for months after it was no longer theirs. Looking for clues to future episodes, messing around the truck, trying to catch every meaningless trivia like room numbers and suck to unlock secret stuff - that's a huge part of the alure of the show. Now it feels like it's just there to promote America's Top Model or Gossip Girl or whatever else they use to cover up my pretties.
Oh, yeah. I sorta watch for the pretties now. And the fact that Jensen Ackles rocks so hard, he can make rock salt just by showing up at the beach. But you get my drift. There's a reason people loved Shrek. Layers.

This is gold.
Do you mind if I use this? With credit of course.
