LOL, well, I've always said there was more to the necklace than just how Dean got it. So, I'm willing to hold my breath on that one. I was actually not excited at all to get more John/Mary. I mean, yay for the boys if they get some time off filming because the episode's not as focused on them, but I never really got the squee over them.
And yeah, Eric actually said that about it being Dean's story, though I think the quote came out of context. I think, from what I read in other comments, that he said Dean is the more human of the two, so he's the one that the viewers can more easily identify with, the kind of hero we can aspire to be sort of thing. He also mentioned something about Dean's perserverance in the face of so much adversity is a sign of great faith, which has always been my contention. It's way harder to believe in a good outcome when you don't have that certainty that there's a higher power in your corner, way harder to keep going when you've never been anything but let down. I swear, the man was reading my posts back when I used to post on sn.tv, because I distinctly remember saying exactly that and having the resident Sam-girl browbeater jump in my thread and accuse me of saying Sam wasn't a hero because he had powers. The bitch. LOL.
