I liked Dean V. Dean, too, but I agree with your comment about it being a lot of rage really fast. I think if they hadn't spliced in the crucified!Sam scenes, they could've had a more gradual build into the rage. I did feel like, even though they were hurtful things the Demon!Dean was saying, they didn't really get time to sink in the way the scene was paced.
Still, I think Dean was shooting the thing he never wants to become, not himself. He doesn't want to become the things he hunts.
Though I thought Demon!Dean was pretty friggin' hot.
And poor Sam looking at his lap and not standing up. I'm in love with that scene, too. Bwahahaha!
