Actually, it was sort of the point. I wanted it to be such a sharp contrast to the John from "before". John here is totally drunk, though a 4 year old won't understand that. The next story will also have a clueless, drunk John, but at the end, he will realize what's really important ;)
Glad you liked Dean though, cuz this whole thing is really about him =)
